During the workshop, Mr. Attorney Senaka Perera, Mr. Sudesh Nandimal Silva, Mr. Ruki Fernando, Mr. Rasika Gunawardena, and former prison official Mr. P. K. W. Kudabandara educated the young activists on the prison system, human rights, and the legal framework. As a key component of this program, practical training was also provided on submitting complaints to United Nations human rights mechanisms.
The participating young human rights defenders plan to lodge complaints with local and international human rights mechanisms in the future, and the Committee for Protecting Rights of Prisoners has also planned a special series of upcoming programs with them.
At the conclusion of this three-day residential workshop, the Committee for Protecting Rights of Prisoners had also arranged to award a valuable certificate to the participants.
සිරකරු අයිතිවාසිකම් සුරැකීමේ කමිටුව (CPRP) සංවිධානය කළ තරුණ මානව හිමිකම් ආරක්ෂකයින් සඳහා වන තෙදින වැඩමුළුව හංවැල්ලේදී සාර්ථකව පැවැත්වුණි.
මෙහිදී බන්ධනාගාර පද්ධතිය, මානව හිමිකම් සහ නීතිමය පසුබිම පිළිබඳව නීතිඥ සේනක පෙරේරා, සුදේශ් නන්දිමාල් සිල්වා, රුකී ප්රනාන්දු, රසික ගුණවර්ධන සහ හිටපු බන්ධනාගාර නිලධාරී පී. කේ. ඩබ්ලිව්. කුඩාබණ්ඩාර යන මහත්වරුන් විසින් තරුණ ක්රියාකාරීන් දැනුවත් කළ අතර, මෙහි ප්රධානතම අංගයක් ලෙස එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ මානවහිමිකම් යාන්ත්රණ වෙත පැමිණිලි ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම පිළිබඳව ප්රායෝගික පුහුණුවක් ද ලබා දෙන ලදී.
සහභාගී වූ තරුණ මානවහිමිකම් ආරක්ෂකයන් ඉදිරියේදී දේශීය සහ ජාත්යන්තර මානවහිමිකම් යාන්ත්රණ වෙත පැමිණිලි කිරීමට සැලසුම් කර ඇති අතර ඔවුන් සමඟ විශේෂ ඉදිරි වැඩසටහන් මාලාවක්ද සිරකරු අයිතිවාසිකම් සුරැකීමේ කමිටුව සැලසුම්කර ඇත.
